Meet

Dr. Emily Skarda

Dr. Skarda is an orthopedic surgeon with specialized training in orthopedic hand and upper extremity surgery. Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, her academic journey began at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Molecular Biology.

Dr. Skarda earned her medical degree at the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine in 2019. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. From there, she made her way to Southern California for a hand and upper extremity surgery fellowship at the University of California, San Diego, where she gained expertise treating a variety of conditions from fingertips to shoulders.

Dr. Skarda is dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based orthopedic care. She believes in a patient-centered approach through informed, collaborative decision-making to meet the unique needs of each patient. She has a particular interest in hand and upper extremity trauma and is passionate about restoring a patient’s function and quality of life after the unexpected.

In her spare time, she enjoys running, hiking, yoga, and spending time with family and friends.
