Dr. Hoshino earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California at Irvine with honors and then spent the next three years traveling the world as a professional surfer. He subsequently went on to attend medical school at the University of California at San Diego where he earned the George Glenner award for graduating as the number one student in his class.
During his orthopaedic surgery residency at Harbor-UCLA, a busy level-1 trauma center, he experienced deep satisfaction from helping people and from the ability to provide patients with immediate life-changing results. This compelled Dr. Hoshino to focus on orthopaedic trauma and complete a fellowship at the world famous University of Maryland, Shock Trauma Center.
